Ontario Chamber of Commerce calls on province to allow digital pink slips
The Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) is calling on the province to allow digital proof of auto insurance and other insurance documents.
The OCC passed a resolution on the matter this weekend following a unanimous vote by delegates at the association’s annual general meeting in Hamilton, Ont. The resolution was drafted by the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce.
“Ontario businesses are looking to the next provincial government to outline very specific measures they would take to reduce unnecessary red tape,” said Keanin Loomis, president and CEO of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, in a statement released by the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC).
“With nearly every American state having figured out how to make digital insurance documents a reality, I’m confident that we can figure out a way to make this work in Ontario,” Loomis added.
