Asia Pacific: Disasters to cost region US$160 bln p.a. by 2030, UN warns

Economic losses to disasters in Asia and the Pacific could exceed US$160 billion annually by 2030, the United Nations development arm in the region warned on 24 April, urging greater innovation in disaster risk financing.
