Quakes cause more than $2 billion in economic losses in 2017

Liu Guiping, deputy director of the China Earthquake Administration's China Earthquake Networks Center, said that 13 earthquakes above magnitude-5.0 that struck the country this year caused 14.6 billion Chinese yuan ($2.2 billion) in direct economic losses.
